Your talent for satire is so wasted on this tin-pot tyrant. Never fails to make me LOL. But hey, it is in our faces bigtime at the moment. I don't know whether Katoomba is better off actually HAVING a council - Central Coast and southern highlands' councils were replaced after ineptitude-or-worse by similar tin-pot administrators who seem to think the community is a mere hindrance to the unopposed rollout of their utopian visions. The "failure" of the LNP candidates at the starting gate bears uncanny resemblance to the recent Senate voting on matters like Covid response inquiries, excess mortality inquiries, WHO inquiries, etc, in which the absence of certain numbers of Senators made sure that the dreaded Labor-Greens-alliance won the day. Theatre.
Your point about missing Senators is very interesting. An administrator is worse in that what little purchase we have now on our Councillors is completely evaporated. That is why we must seek to hold these Councillors to account no matter how forlorn the task. And we should have some fun while we are doing it. This is a much bigger problem than our Council so I think it might be time to focus on the broader issues.
I understand that many years ago, Randwick Council was sacked (totally corrupt) and replaced by a highly paid Administrator and ran very smoothly for a number of years. In this instance, not tin-pot but a type of benign dictatorship within clearly defined parameters. Before, of course, "democracy" once again 'prevailed'.
What we need are Kings who are Philosophers or Philosophers who are Kings.
I'm a bit worried about the term "benign dictatorship" because it's bound to be "benign" if you agree with the dictator, eh? But what if your benign dictator suddenly wanted to do something you didn't agree with? And wouldn't reply to your letters, and tried to shut you up at council meetings by making you submit your questions in advance and then only giving you three minutes to speak, and after you've spoken just ignore you and move on to the next item? (Our situation in Central Coast council meetings.)

Where do I apply?
Philosophers are weeded out quickly in the cuurent political era and marked suspect..

Well, yes. That's why we need Philosophers (seekers of truth) and/or Kings (rulers) to govern us.
They are in very short supply right now, at every level.
(but then, there are no accidents in the Universe.)
It is a bit of a lottery. Now, you would get an extreme bureaucrat as an administrator only too keen to implement an extreme agenda.
Yep. Randwick rate payers back then got lucky. Innocent daze.. relatively.
Now, with Desmet's (?) mass psychosis rampant, we're in a very different world.
that should have read, " Philosophers (seekers of truth) or Kings (rulers) who are Philosophers, to govern us.
