You must be a thorn in their side at council meetings 😆 I would love to be able to read their thoughts while you ask questions. So much in this post Warren, I shall read it a few times I’m sure. So glad that you are on ‘our side’ & not theirs (the self righteous save the planet lot)

As my son often says ‘Jesus please take the wheel’

I love the way you turn this farce in to satire. I watched the 10 minute video of the Councillors on saying no to the Vax Bus entering the Blue Mountains. Stand out speeches were "They spread disinformation because they are calling for elected officials to register their ties with any global organisations" and "They mention the WEF" and "As a Libertarian I am pro free speech but not when it's said by conspiracy theorists".

Yes, Kate, our Mayor worked very hard in that performance piece to convince us he had no idea what the public fuss was about. I hadn't listened to it for a while either. What impressed me was the way he cajoled, flattered and shepherded the other Councillors into making the most outrageous and ridiculous statements.

It was hard to pick best supporting actor because Rosa Saga and Brendan Christie were so good. Brendan believes in free speech unless he doesn't. Thankfully, he left Council early. Hasn't been there for about a year.

Rosa's celebration of the "Dob in a Doctor" service was sickening. She claimed responsibility for the Health Care Complaints Commission that took away good doctors' right to practice and ignored those doctors who callously injected people Well done Rosa.

What’s good old Ted (Sage) doing these days? Honestly I’d rather stick pins under my nails than talk to him. Boring as bat 💩 Rosa not much better

I know him as Edward from his generous attacks on nurses via the Gazette.

Magnificent writing as usual Warren. The council deserves all the ridicule it gets. The bright haired person in the IDAHOBIT photo is a neighbour of mine. An exhibistionist loudmouth. Another closer neighbour is a Director of Corporate and Strategy at the Council, much involved with all the Net Zero business.

What preposterous over blown carry on by these pathetic pompous people calling themselves councillors. Do you think they even realise what they are forcing down our throats, and theirs and their families? The Rockefeller tentacles are everywhere and they are relentlessly squeezing life and hope out of communities.

The "exhibitionist" is actually a very nice fellow. He was on occasion a great support when I was running Winter Magic. I should have warned him to be more careful about the company he keeps {not referring to you, Di of course, but the other people in the photo).

Yes he is very friendly and I’m glad to hear helpful. I wasn’t aware of his community involvement.

Is it Robert?

yes

I don't see him so much now but he is a good friend of mine. He has a sweet naivete about him and is as kind as the day is long.

A lot of good people are being used.

"sweet naivete" does not abode well for a councillor's duty which is to have sound reasoning skills to make sound decisions on behalf of the ratepayers.

Certainly not. This discussion was about someone in the photo. Most definitely NOT a Councillor or Mayor.

Is his name Robert?

Peter and I filled in the Community Survey some time ago, I had forgotten. There wasn't really any opportunity to voice opposition to the plan, except in comments, where we did so. To no avail of course

That's how community consultation works. Then they say "The community asked for this.."

Oh dear, I'm finding it hard to extract my fingers from down my throat.

I thought Mudgee/Mid-Western Regional Council was bad, but you are right up there with the "how dare yous".

Looks like our region will become the net-zero power supply centre. Too bad that we have been voted the best tourist destination, in Australia, for a few years now.

I doubt anyone will want to come here when the hills are covered in solar panels and wind turbines, but gee, there's got to be a carbon neuter we can gloat over.

"I love a carbon neutral country,

A land of shining solar panels" ... all that.

Mudgee council does not record presentations to council at the open forum - that the public are aware of, anyway. In fact, there is a sign in the chambers that says recordings are prohibited. Presumably that means for the public, or they themselves are breaking their own prohibition.

I won't continue, suffice to say we have a battle on our hands.

The fact that this BS has got this far is nothing short of ama$$$ing.

These outfits have an extensive rule book for us but not much of it stretches to their involvement. Yes, I am sure the "no recording" is meant only for the public. I have had reports that Shoalhaven Council has been having similar problems with its recording equipment. Have Mudgee meetings been invaded by right wing mad people? This seems to have Councillors trembling all over the country.

I wish. Supporters but not vocal in council. Yet. "Right wing mad people" who knew that's where we were headed 4 years ago?

Love your work.

I am laughing so much I can hardly write, Warren! Not a paragraph goes by without your oh-so-gentle pokes, nod-winks, and eye-opening revelations of the tangled webs of influence. Surely this piece will soon be used by Blue Mountains English teachers as an example of the satirical arts which are endangered bordering on extinction along with all the other arts. Oh, but I forget: they are probably from the clutch of teachers hatched out to "awaken" the community (via their unsuspecting, Greta-idolising pupils) to the "climate emergency". (This is realised with no small amount of embarrassment by yours truly, former climate activist, now aghast after watching the above Movie and taking second looks at other "denialists". Oh dear!)

Too kind Dr Faire. Yes, isn't that movie good. That film wouldn't have done much for anyone's career. I sure your embarrassment of past ignorance.

Just watched this eye opener from 1978 narrated by Mr Spock himself - getting us all terrified of the coming Ice Age. But the punch line was the same then, as I heard towards the end: nation states need to be gone beyond so that we can have a global response to the freeze! OMG, they just changed the whole thing upside down and no one noticed? Where did all those "experts" go to after the inversion, I wonder...https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RQRqr9_jw5I
